The Exquisite Corpse of Ralph Anderson

Ralph Anderson was my grandfather, who fought with the Navy in WWII. He raised me from when I was 6 and we were very close. He hated violence and the Navy and never spoke of the war. He was at Iwo Jima and possibly Normandy. It was such a huge part of his life and I always thought it must torture him and I wish I could have helped.—Jennie Ottinger
